Second Sandeep Batavia Memorial cricket Tournament hosted by DPS, Sharjah at the lush green DPS cricket ground was inaugurated on Saturday November 26, 2005 by Mr. Pravin J. Batavia, Director DPS Sharjah.
Present on the occasion were Abdul Razaq Kazim, Chief Selector, Emirates Cricket Board, Mr. Ali Khayal, Director, DPS Sharjah, Mrs., Abha Sahgal, Principal, DPS Sharjah, Mrs. Asma Gilani, Senior Headmistress, Mrs. Shabana, Supervisor and Vikrum Dutt, DPS coach.
Mr. Batavia declared the match open and bowled the first ball to Mr. Abdul Razaq. Mrs.Abha Sahgal welcomed the gathering and reiterated her commitment in spotting and molding young cricketers. She thanked the sponsors and DPS director board for their dedication and continuous support.
