D.P.S UTSAV 2005

DPS Utsav 2005 - a fund raising carnival for the earthquake victims also proved to be a venue for a variety of fun games, lip smacking dishes and shopping extravaganza for about 3000 visitors, students and their friends. The students of Al-Noor center for Special Needs, Sharjah inaugurated the Utsav. The proceeds of the Utsav will be donated to the Red Crescent Society for the earthquake victims. 
 

On display were about 50 stalls selling a variety of merchandise ranging from bookmarks to glittering necklaces, trinkets to crockery, and readymade garments to gift-items. Children at the Al- Noor center for Special Needs exhibited a variety of items like calendars, block printed cushions, and assortment of gift items all of their own make. A huge play area was provided for different fun games like slides and jumpies. Around 20 stalls food stalls served a range of yummy cuisine from various Indian States, Chinese and a variety of savory ice creams. DPS Environment Society stall conveyed the message of recycling when they sold a hodgepodge of biodegradable gift items which attracted a lot of crowds. 

Another big hit was the garage sale organized by the DPS students where people bought a range of lovely items. Many visitors tried their luck at bingo and won cash prizes. 
 

Juke Box - the request station was yet another hot attraction with over 200 requests being played. There was also a brilliant live performance of Green Day?s ?Boulevard of broken dreams?, played by the students of grade 9.Spicy and Zesty was the disco organized by the students of grade 11 which had students, parents and teachers dance the night away to some foot tapping music played out by four of the best Disc Jockeys the U.A.E has to offer.

In the grand Raffle draw the two lucky winners took home air tickets to any of their favorite destination in India.
