DPS Sharjah topples Winchester 78 – 23 |

The opening match of the DPS under 19 Basketball Tournament got off to a good start with DPS Shj. Vs. Winchester, Dubai. DPS dominated from the beginning with quick baskets from Ali Hussain and Kunal Vohra.
However, Winchester quickly answered with baskets from No. 4 and No. 10. In the second half the DPS game died down and the Winchester team came up with a sudden surge of baskets. But this was short-lived as the DPS defense quickly caught up and Kunal scored four 3 pointers. The match ended with a basket from DPS’ Harsh Pardasani and saw DPS destroy Winchester 78-23.
Top scorers were Sidheek Razak with 22 pts. And Kunal Vohra with 18 pts. |

INDIAN HIGH DOMINATES WINCHESTER 43-13 in girls |

The first match of the girls’ side of the tournament saw Winchester face off against Indian High School. The match started off with a slow pace with both teams failing to score. However the jinx was quickly broken as Henna of Indian High scored the first basket of the game. Indian High quickly followed with many inside shots allowing them to take an early lead. Winchester could not answer and failed to convert a large number of attempts as the Indian High defence was a solid wall.
The few baskets scored by the Winchester team were from free throws n a few fast breaks. However this was not enough to overcome the Indian High defence and the game ended 43-13 in favor of Indian High. Top Scorer was Henna of Indian High with 20 points. |

INDIAN HIGH SOARS TO VICTORY AFTER SLOW START |

The second match of the boys tournament was Indian High School vs. Abu Dhabi Indian School. It got off to a mellow but competitive start but Indian High slowly began to pull away. Although ADIS gave a good fight Indian High kept up with them throughout the game. Indian High won the game 63-26 and Nikit Gokul Das was the top scorer with 28 points although he had a bad start.
