Indian High School trounces Westminster on the opening day |

The newly introduced concept of 20-20 Cricket was met with a lot of enthusiasm by the Under 12 participating cricketers. The first match of the Sundeep Batavia Memorial tournament was played between Westminster and Indian High School. Westminster won the toss and elected to bat. The Westminster batsmen played with a steady hand and managed to score 87 runs with a minimal loss of only 3 wickets at the end of innings. Talha top scored for Westminster scoring 18 runs off 21 balls and Danish assisting with 16 runs off 26 balls. Avinash was the pick of the bowlers bagging 3 wickets for 12 runs. |

Indian High struck back strong with a winning 88. The highlight of the innings were the openers Naveen and Utkarsh scoring 21 and 23 respectively. They built an opening stand of 82 runs setting a benchmark for the tournament. One prominent feature of the match was the enormous number of extras conceded by both teams totaling a staggering 73. Utkarsh Ved was awarded the man of the match.
