Briefing the Press about the two major interschool sports events in the Middle East at a press conference yesterday, Principal Mrs. Abha Sahgal said that she sincerely wanted to see these matches providing an opportunity for budding cricketers and basket ball players to take their performance higher standards so that they would be on their way to play in national and international competitions.   

DPS Basket ball coach and HOD PE department said that matches will be officiated by neutral referees from Indian Basketball Association and Philippino Basket ball association.

This year also as in the past, Air India will award tickets to the man of the series and best batsman in cricket while Air Arabia will honour the most valuable basketball player in boys and girls.

Mr. Vikram, DPS cricket coach informed the press that one of the highlights of the 20 over match would be the introduction of free hit for no balls.

A total of 16 schools will be participating in both the tournaments which will be conducted in league cum knock out basis and fixtures purely on lot basis to ensure equal opportunity of all participating teams.
