FIRST LEGO LEAGUE [Sr. & Jr.] – UAE |

For the third consecutive year, Dipsites did exceedingly well in FLL senior level which was conducted across the United Arab Emirates jointly by the Ministry of Education and ATLAB (authorized distributor of LEGO) as their Knowledge Partner on 9th and 10th of March,2018 at Emirates National School.
This season’s theme “HYDRODYNAMICS” for seniors is to basically learn all about water – how we find, transport, use, or dispose of it. Students are challenged to develop a solution and design, build, program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS, then compete on a table-top playing field. Basically they are tested in 4 different categories namely Research, Core Values, Robot Design and Robot game.
For the junior dipsites, this season’s theme “Aqua Adventure” has given them an opportunity to explore about water and its use. It has greatly ignited the creativity of the children of ages 6 to 10.’It consisted of four phases modeled after a typical engineering design process: Explore, create, test, and share. Students had fun in learning from each other’s experiences, visits and research. They showcased immaculate Show Me Posters too.
10 teams from Primary had participated and all 10 teams won galore in
FLL Jr.’s challenge.6 teams comprising of 10 students each represented DPS Sharjah senior wing in this prestigious event. Totally there were 126 teams from all parts of UAE competed in this event.
We feel extremely jubilant to inform that our team “SUPER FLUIDS” has qualified themselves for the international level to ESTONIA. This team ranked third overall is one out of the 8 teams that will be representing UAE. They were also the Winners under the Research category.
Our other team “BRICK BOTS” has won the runner up under GRACIOUS PROFESSIONALISM category. Third team “HYDRO HEROES” were the runners under “TEAM WORK” category. 3 teams also showed remarkable performance in all categories.Team “HYDROBOTS” were in the 9th position in ROBOGAME out of 126 teams with 130 points.It was indeed a memorable day with loads of fun and incredible experience.
