THE BEE’AH INTERSCHOOL RECYCLING COMPETITION IS HERE!

 

Recycling for a Greener Future…

 

The Bee’ah School of Environment (BSOE), launches its very first inter-school Recycling competition.

DPS Sharjah zestfully registered as one of the competing schools to add to its kitty this award after winning the prestigious Sharjah sustainability Award by EPAA and the Sharjah Environment Awareness Award, by Bee’ah awards for Science and Social categories.

DPS Sharjah comprising of its Staff, Students and Parent committee aims to be the proud recipient of this award by small contributions put in by each and every member of the school.  

This milestone can be achieved only with the enthusiastic participation and contribution from all in the DPS family.

The competition is from 10th November 2013 to 15th May 2014.

Students, Parents and staff members are requested to contribute Used News Papers, Old Books and Magazines, Carton Boxes, Tetra packs, Plastic bottles and Cans.

These items will then be sent to the Bee'ah recycling center and track will be kept on how much has been contributed by each school.

 

Do’s and Don’ts

·         There are designated areas for collection of each item in every block.

·         Please make sure that you put the recyclable materials in proper bags and the right bins to ensure smooth functioning.

·         You are advised not to carry in bulk.  Bring in small numbers every day and put in the right bins.

·         There are blue boys in each corridor to assist you. Ask them, they will help you.

·         All collection from the classrooms will be taken by the blue boys to the Recycling Areas where Beeah Bins and Cages are kept.

·         Class teachers to record the highest collectors-students and teachers and submit the names to the respective Class Reps every month end. Appreciation certificates will be given both to the students and teachers at the end.(Class Monitors can assist their class teachers in keeping a track and finding out the Green Champs)

·         Parents and administrative staff will deposit the Recyclable stuff in the Bus Parking Area, near the Green House. The record of highest collection will be maintained by Mr. Stephen, the Administrative Manager.

·         Participating Parents coming to deposit the Recyclable items  are required to register their names and contact numbers with Ms.Nirmala at the Reception.

·         Girls- Recycling Bins and Cages  are kept in the Girls Canteen Area

·         Boys- Recycling Bins are kept near the Eco Park and the Boys’ Canteen Area

·         Eco Committee Students and Teachers will ensure smooth functioning.

Remember, this is possible only with the help of every member of the school right from the Principal to the Ancillary staff.
